This Privacy Policy describes how Print It My Way ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you install or use our Shopify application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
When you install and use the App, we may collect the following types of information:
Store Information
- Shopify store name, domain, and store owner email address
- Store locale, currency, and timezone settings
- Shopify plan information
Product Information
- Product titles, descriptions, images, and variant data for products you assign personalizers or option sets to
Order Information
- Order details including order number, line items, customer name, and personalization data (custom text, font selections, color choices, and uploaded logos)
- Financial and fulfillment status of orders containing personalized products
Customer-Provided Content
- Custom text entries, font and color selections made by your store's customers during personalization
- Logo and image files uploaded by customers (PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG, GIF)
- Option field selections (color swatches, dropdown choices, checkbox values, etc.)
Usage Data
- App usage patterns such as which features you use, personalizer and option set configurations
- Error logs and performance data to improve the App
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality
- Process and display personalization data on your storefront and in the order dashboard
- Calculate and apply customization pricing through Shopify's Cart Transform API
- Store uploaded logos and images so they can be displayed in orders
- Manage your subscription, billing, and plan limits
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
- Improve the App through usage analytics and error tracking
- Communicate updates, new features, or changes to the App
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Shopify — We operate within the Shopify platform and use Shopify APIs. Information is shared with Shopify as required for the App to function (e.g., Cart Transform operations, order data access)
- Service Providers — We may use third-party services for hosting, file storage (for uploaded logos/images), analytics, and error tracking. These providers only access data necessary to perform their services
- Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as you have the App installed and your account is active. Specifically:
- Personalizer and option set configurations — Retained while the App is installed
- Uploaded images and logos — Retained while the App is installed and for 30 days after uninstallation
- Order personalization data — Retained while the App is installed
When you uninstall the App, we will delete your store data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Access to stored data is restricted to authorized personnel only
- We follow Shopify's security best practices for app development
- Uploaded files are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability — Request your data in a portable format
- Objection — Object to certain processing of your data

7. Customer Data (Your Store's Customers)
When your customers use the personalizer or option sets on your storefront, the data they enter (custom text, uploaded logos, option selections) is stored as part of the Shopify order. You, as the store owner, are the data controller for your customers' data. We process this data on your behalf as a data processor.
We recommend that you include information about the use of product personalization apps in your own store's privacy policy so your customers are informed about how their data is handled.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use cookies for tracking purposes. We do not use any third-party advertising trackers. The App may use browser local storage solely for maintaining user interface state (such as selected layout preferences) during a browsing session.
9. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party services (such as Google Fonts for font rendering). These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is designed for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the App or via email.
